With the Vakaros Atlas 2, you are choosing one of the most advanced and precise tactical sailing instruments on the market. The compact, wireless display is designed to give you a decisive tactical advantage on the racecourse – through millimeter-accurate data, extremely fast reaction times, and intelligent connectivity.
The full tactical functionality for the perfect start with the Atlas 2
Unlike the Edge variant (which is artificially limited for certain class rules), the Atlas 2 unleashes the full potential of Vakaros software. The instrument accurately calculates the distance to the starting line as well as the remaining time (Time-to-Line), allowing you to start the race with optimal speed and perfect timing. Tailored tactical displays and shift-tracking help you instantly recognize wind shifts and optimally adapt your strategy on the water. An integrated backlight also guarantees perfect readability at dusk or during night sailing.
Seamless sensor coupling via Bluetooth
Another significant advantage of the Atlas 2 is the ability to wirelessly integrate external transducers and sensors via Bluetooth. In combination with compatible instruments (e.g., the Calypso ultrasonic wind sensor) or the Vakaros NMEA 2000 Gateway, wind data, boat speed through water, depth, and other onboard data can be centrally bundled on the high-resolution display.
High-end technology for the highest demands
The heart of the system is the extremely powerful L1+L5 dual-band GNSS receiver with an impressive clock rate of 25 Hz. It delivers your position data and speed over ground (SOG) absolutely smoothly and without noticeable latency. The technology is complemented by a high-precision 3-axis compass and sensors for heel and trim. The high-contrast 4.4-inch display is protected with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass and can be perfectly read from any angle, even with polarized sunglasses.
Impressive endurance and data analysis with Atlas 2
The integrated 4600 mAh lithium-ion battery guarantees an outstanding runtime of over 100 hours on the water. The device is conveniently charged without error-prone plugs via a wireless Qi charging pad (not included). After the race, the integrated data logging allows for detailed recording and subsequent analysis of your performance on your smartphone or tablet.
