The hydraulic systems of older boats, especially Bennett hydraulic systems, often tend to leak oil or become stiff after years. Instead of performing costly repairs on the old system, the Lenco "Retrofit" Kit offers a modern and efficient solution for converting to electric trim tabs.
Lenco Retrofit Kit: Simple, Fast, and No Drilling
The special feature of this conversion kit is its easy installation. You don't need to install new tabs or drill into the boat's transom. The kit uses the existing mounting points of your old Bennett system.
What's included and how does it work?
- Two electric cylinders (actuators)
- Screws and upper cylinder mounts
- The old oil pump is removed.
- The old mechanical components on the trim tabs remain.
- The lower part of the new Lenco cylinders is mounted directly to the existing bracket on the tab.
- The included new bracket for the upper cylinder is simply inserted into the old drill holes.
- After mounting, you must seal the sealing points (e.g., with Sikaflex, not included).
- Finally, the cables are connected to your existing Bennett Rocker Switch – and the upgrade to a reliable, electric system is complete!
Optional Control
The existing Bennett Rocker Switch can optionally also be replaced by a fully automatic trim tab control from Mente Marine. This way, you also benefit from automatic trimming and maximum driving comfort.
