The NASA Clipper Wind System with wireless masthead unit comes with the Clipper Wind display unit, black box, and wireless wind sensor. The wind sensor is powered by an internal battery, charged via a small solar panel. Even a few cloudy days will not affect performance.
The wireless masthead unit transmits its data wirelessly to the base station, which is powered by the 12 V on-board power supply, or to compatible NMEA 0183 display devices. The transmitted data includes wind speed and wind direction.
