With the Garmin Airmar DST820 Smart Sensor, you are choosing the latest generation of marine sensor technology. This powerful thru-hull transducer combines four essential measurement functions in a single, compact housing: it continuously provides precise data on water depth, speed through water, water temperature, and vessel attitude (heel and trim).
Highest Measurement Accuracy at Any Speed
The heart of the DST820 is the newly developed Gen2 paddlewheel. It guarantees industry-leading accuracy starting at extremely low speeds of 0.3 knots and delivers reliable values up to 45 knots. With an output rate of 5.7 Hz, speed is updated more than five times per second. This results in a significantly smoother display on the plotter and faster responsiveness for tactical decisions. Depth measurement operates at 235 kHz, avoiding interference with conventional fishfinders, and reliably reaches up to 100 meters.
Integrated Attitude Sensor and Smart Calibration
A special highlight is the integrated attitude sensor, which detects the boat's heel and trim. This data enables heel-compensated speed calibration. Setup is extremely convenient: via the integrated Bluetooth module, the DST820 connects directly to the free Airmar CAST app on your smartphone or tablet. This allows both basic and advanced calibrations (such as manual entries for different heel angles) to be performed directly on board, without the need for an expensive PC.
The DST820 can be connected directly to the Vakaros Atlas 2 Display via Bluetooth.
