The Pathfinder Pro is a fully approved Search and Rescue Transponder (SART) that meets IMO SOLAS regulations. When interrogated by radar, the Pathfinder Pro transmits 12 intense blips back to the ship's radar screen, significantly enhancing search and rescue efforts. The high-quality lithium battery provides an operating time of over 96 hours in standby mode (until radar interrogation) and 12 hours of active operation during radar interrogation.

The Pathfinder Pro comes with a practical wall mount, ensuring the compact SART is always within reach but not in the way. An optional telescopic pole can be easily attached to the bottom of the SART to ensure maximum height and visibility from a life raft. Alternatively, the SART can be hung in the boat to keep hands free.

A Search and Rescue Transponder (SART) is mandatory for all commercial vessels required to be GMDSS compliant, as well as for all vessels carrying more than one lifeboat/raft.

Equipment requirements:

  • All IMO-SOLAS ships operating on international voyages must carry a SART.
  • 300-500 Gross Tonnage (GT) must carry at least 1 SART.
  • Ships over 500 Gross Tonnage (GT) must carry at least 2 SARTs.
  • 1 SART for every four life rafts on Ro-Ro passenger ships.
