Garmin Signal™ VHF 400: The Next Generation of Marine Communication

The Garmin Signal™ VHF 400 VHF radio sets new standards in terms of safety, connectivity, and ease of use on board. This premium marine radio was specially developed for boaters who do not want to compromise. It combines a full-featured VHF radio with a powerful AIS transponder and innovative audio features in a compact, waterproof (IPX7) housing.

Integrated Class B AIS Transponder (SOTDMA)

Increase your situational awareness on the water. The Garmin Signal VHF 400 features an integrated Class B SOTDMA AIS transponder (5 watts transmit power). This allows you to reliably send your own position to other vessels and simultaneously receive their AIS data – all via just one VHF antenna. No additional antenna splitter is required! Collision alarms and MOB (Man Overboard) alerts are displayed directly on the screen or on connected chartplotters.

Intuitive Operation via 3.5" Color Touchscreen

Operating a marine radio has never been easier. The bright, sunlight-readable 3.5-inch color IPS touchscreen display (1,000 nits) allows for quick navigation through all menus. An ergonomic hand microphone (fist mic) with integrated speaker is also included, taking up minimal space at the helm thanks to its compact design.

NMEA 2000® Connectivity and GPS

The device has an integrated GPS receiver (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou). AIS data, DSC distress calls, and navigation information can be seamlessly shared with your Garmin chartplotters or MFDs (multifunction displays) via the NMEA 2000® network.

Crystal-Clear Communication & Smart Audio Features

In strong winds and with loud engines, clarity is vital. The Garmin Signal VHF 400 shines with adaptive noise cancellation, which filters out disruptive background noise. Another highlight: The radio automatically records and allows playback of the last 3 minutes of radio traffic – so you never miss an important weather report or harbor master instructions again. The device also offers an integrated 25-watt loudhailer (foghorn) with listen-back function.

Scalable for Large Yachts

Do you have a large helm station or a flybridge? No problem. Via the Garmin BlueNet network, you can expand the VHF 400 with up to five Garmin Signal™ RM 100 remote controls. These act as full-fledged secondary stations, including an intercom function for on-board communication.
