Compatibility with metal and aluminum tanks.
The adapter is designed for metal tanks, including aluminum tanks, where the radar signal cannot directly penetrate the tank material. It is compatible with both SIMARINE STR1 and STR2 radar tank level sensors.
Recommended Mounting Method
The STR-A adapter is mounted on top of the tank using the S5 flange opening. This is a 5-hole SAE mounting, as used with most existing WEMA sensors.
The rubber gasket is placed between the tank and the adapter, and the adapter is secured with the included screws. The Simarine STR1 or STR2 transmitter is then centered and fixed with its adhesive tape on top of the adapter. The screws should be tightened evenly but not overtightened.
The adapter has an outer diameter of approx. Ø 68 mm.
The radar opening / clear window should be approx. Ø 54 mm and match the adapter opening so that the radar signal can enter the tank unimpeded. The installation height with the STR sensor mounted on the adapter is approx. 38 mm.
For hygienic reasons, the adapter is not approved for drinking water tanks.
