The ACR SM-3 Lifebuoy Light is a compact, high-performance safety solution for vessels and offshore platforms. With a light intensity of at least 3 candela throughout its operating life, it reliably marks the position of a person overboard – visible day and night. Thanks to automatic activation and uprighting in water, the crew does not have to worry about manual deployment in emergencies.
Compared to disposable lights, the SM-3 offers significant advantages: it is powered by 2 replaceable AA lithium batteries, allowing for a longer lifespan and easy maintenance. This makes the SM-3 a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to many other lifebuoy lights on the market.
Robust and easy to install:
The included bracket secures the light even in heavy seas and is still easily accessible in an emergency. Thanks to the identical hole pattern to the SM-2, the SM-3 can be easily retrofitted without an adapter plate. Despite its compact size, it offers maximum reliability.
Approval and area of application:
The SM-3 is USCG, MED, and SOLAS certified and meets globally applicable safety standards. According to regulations, at least half of all lifebuoys on passenger and cargo ships must be equipped with a self-igniting light – depending on the ship's size, this can be four to fifteen lifebuoy lights.
Extremely durable:
While the SOLAS standard requires a drop test from 30 meters, the SM-3 was successfully tested from up to 76 meters. This makes it suitable for a wide range of platforms and vessels.
Technical Highlights and Advantages:
- Automatic activation and uprighting upon water contact
- Bright LED strobe light with 360° visibility
