Detecting the invisible danger – before it's too late
Carbon monoxide (CO) is an extremely dangerous gas: it is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. On boats, the risk is particularly high – leaky exhaust systems, running generators, or a defective diesel heater can quickly fill the cabin with the deadly gas.
The Vanemar Smart Carbon Monoxide Detector is your life insurance. Unlike conventional DIY store detectors, this sensor is networked.
On-site and remote safety If the sensor detects an increased CO concentration, two things happen:
- On board: A loud 85dB siren immediately wakes the crew, even from a deep sleep.
- On your mobile phone: The Vanemar Gateway immediately sends you a critical warning via push notification and email. An active subscription is required for this.
This is particularly valuable if you have left the boat but the heater is still running or family members/pets are sleeping on board. You will be informed immediately and can arrange for help.
Easiest installation No drilling, no cables. The sensor is powered by a long-lasting battery and communicates wirelessly with the gateway. Ideally, place it in sleeping areas or near potential CO sources (but not directly at the exhaust).

- Sleeping cabins: Crew protection at night.
- Saloon: Monitoring when gas stoves or heaters are in operation.
- Near engine room: Early warning for leaky exhaust manifolds.

⚠️ Important notes:
- A Vanemar Gateway is required to use the app functions. (Without the gateway, it only functions as a local alarm with a siren).
- An active subscription is required for remote monitoring.
- This detector detects carbon monoxide (CO). It is NOT suitable for propane/butane (gas leaks) or smoke/fire. For these, you need the corresponding other Vanemar sensors.
