Simarine STR1 Radar Tank Sensor (Analog & Bluetooth)

Monitoring tank levels has often been a compromise between various standards and fluctuating accuracies in the past. With the Simarine STR1 Radar Tank Sensor, this is now a thing of the past. Developed for state-of-the-art digital networks and proven analog systems, this sensor offers absolute reliability for yachts, motorhomes, and off-grid systems.

Contactless Micro-Radar Technology

Unlike conventional float or ultrasonic sensors, Simarine's STR1 relies on advanced micro-radar. The sensor measures the distance to the liquid surface contactlessly and with high precision. The advantages of this technology are immense:

  • Immune to interference: Foam, vapors, condensation, or dirt in the tank do not falsify the readings.

  • Versatile: Perfectly suited for fresh water, grey water, black water (holding tanks), and fuels such as petrol and diesel.

One Sensor, Endless Possibilities (Universal Compatibility)

No matter how your onboard network is structured, the Simarine STR1 adapts seamlessly – without any "ecosystem constraints":

  • Analog Systems (STR1): Supports the most common analog resistance and voltage standards. Ideal for retrofitting old systems or operating multiple displays with just one sensor.

  • Stand-Alone via Bluetooth (STR1): You don't need elaborate cabling? The sensor can also be operated completely autonomously and read out directly via the Simarine Mobile App via Bluetooth.

    The "Simarine Connect" app works on Android version 11 and later, and iOS version 12.2 and later. 

Smart Calibration for Irregular Tanks

Many tanks in yachts and caravans are adapted to the hull or body shape and are highly asymmetrical. The STR1 makes setup incredibly easy: Calibration is done conveniently via Bluetooth using the Simarine App. For maximum accuracy with irregular tank shapes, you can easily define multiple calibration points (Multi-Point-Calibration). Once installed and paired, the sensor consistently delivers exact values.

Low Power Consumption – Maximum Security

On the water and off-grid, energy is precious. The Simarine Radar Tank Sensor features extremely low power consumption and does not unnecessarily burden your system. It continuously provides reliable data on which you can safely base your autonomy and trip planning. Because if your display shows a fill level, it should be the exact right one.

The radar sensor has the following flexible outputs:

0-5V DC: Voltage displays that operate in this voltage range for display can show the tank capacity. This can also be done via the SIMARINE PICO Tank and Battery Monitor. With SIMARINE, the voltage input of the SC303/SC503 shunts or the ST107 Tank Module can be used.

0-190 Ohm: Resistance output is the European standard for tank gauges with corresponding resistance input. This can also be done via the SIMARINE PICO Tank and Battery Monitor. With SIMARINE, the voltage input of the SC303/SC503 shunts or the ST107 Tank Module can be used.

240-30 Ohm: Resistance output is the American standard for tank gauges with corresponding resistance input. This can also be done via the SIMARINE PICO Tank and Battery Monitor. With SIMARINE, the voltage input of the SC303/SC503 shunts or the ST107 Tank Module can be used.
